Alecto Recruitment is working with a well-established energy and power generation company who are seeking a Technical Trainer to support the development and upskilling of operational teams across the business.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Deliver and develop technical training across mechanical, electrical, and operational disciplines.
  • Assess staff competency, provide mentoring, and support continuous skills development.
  • Conduct site audits to ensure compliance with company procedures and safety standards.
  • Induct and train new employees to a level where they can work independently.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate internal and external training programmes.
  • Maintain accurate training records and ensure compliance with company and legislative requirements.
  • Support operational teams with fault finding, troubleshooting, and technical guidance.
  • Review and improve training materials, systems, and HSQE processes.
  • Work with management to define operational standards and improve team performance.
  • Contribute to development of technical documentation and training resources.

Skills & Requirements

  • Strong technical background in power generation, mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience in training, mentoring, or coaching.
  • Recognised engineering qualification (mechanical or electrical).
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and Health & Safety (IOSH/NEBOSH desirable).
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • IT literate with experience using MS Office and digital training tools.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
