Senior QA Engineer

Overview

A Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer plays a crucial role in the software development process, ensuring that products meet certain thresholds of acceptability. They will focus on systematic monitoring and evaluation of the various aspects of a project, service, or facility to ensure that standards of quality are being met.

• Test cases designing, executing, automating: creating detailed test plans and test cases, executing tests to identify issues or defects, and automating where possible.
• Quality assurance and control: ensuring that products meet the required quality standards and are free from defects and implementing quality control processes.
• Defining quality standards: establishing and maintaining quality standards for processes and products aligned with organizational and customer requirements.
• Managing quality systems: setting up and managing QA systems and procedures to support continuous improvement.
• Analyzing data and reporting: collecting and analyzing testing data to identify trends, anomalies, or improvement areas and reporting findings.
• Collaborating with development teams: working closely with developers and other members to integrate quality objectives into the development process.
• Continuous improvement: seeking opportunities to improve testing tools, methodologies, and processes to enhance the quality and efficiency of testing activities.

• Proficiency in functional testing: unit, integration, system, acceptance, regression, UAT, non-functional, performance, and OAT.
• Knowledge of programming languages, development processes, and testing tools, including automation tools and frameworks.
• Strong analytical skills for complex systems, problem decomposition, and problem-solving.
• Effective communication skills with developers, managers, and stakeholders to convey issues and collaborate on solutions.
• Experience documenting test cases, test plans, and defects for reference and reporting.

This is a contract role, initially for 6 months with the potential to extend. Based in our Manchester office, you can work in a hybrid model.
