Part‑time, Fixed‑Term (1 year) Research Fellow – 0.9 FTE (Grade
7), available from August 2026. Salary: £38,784 – £46,049.

Opportunity Overview

The University of Salford and Edge Hill University jointly run the Green

ME Horizon Europe project (2023‑2027) that seeks to advance green care frameworks to improve mental health equity. Your work will support the diagnosis and evidence generation of nature‑based therapy outcomes and the spatial assessment of green care schemes across the UK.

Responsibilities

You will:

  • Collaborate with the UK Green

    ME team and senior academics (Prof Mike Hardman, Prof Penny Cook, Prof Michelle Howarth, Dr Silvio Caputo) on design, data collection and analysis of green care initiatives.
  • Develop GIS‑based maps and spatial models to assess the impact of green care schemes.
  • Produce evidence reports and policy briefings that inform health, planning and environmental stakeholders.
  • Contribute to grant dissemination, conference presentations and peer‑reviewed publications.
Qualifications
  • Graduate degree (MSc/PhD) in Geography, Environmental Studies, Planning, Health or a related field.
  • Strong GIS and spatial analysis skills.
  • Experience in research on environmental health, nature‑based therapy or green infrastructure is desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
