Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a nurturing and educational environment for young children. This role involves developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that promote learning and growth while ensuring the safety and well‑being of all students. The Early Childhood Teacher will work collaboratively with parents, colleagues, and support staff to create an inclusive atmosphere that meets the diverse needs of all children, including those with disabilities.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement age‑appropriate lesson plans that align with educational standards.
- Create a welcoming and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster positive relationships.
- Assess children’s progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
- Utilize computer operation skills to maintain records, manage lesson plans, and communicate with parents.
- Demonstrate leadership in the classroom by guiding teaching assistants and volunteers.
- Manage time effectively to balance instructional time, assessments, and administrative tasks.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
- ECE-qualified (Responsible Adult, ECEA, or ECE — in progress or certified)
- Strong Math & English tutoring skills (Grades K–12)
- Experience with structured programs such as Kumon, Mathnasium, or similar
- Familiar with BC Curriculum and able to tailor lessons for varying age groups
- Knowledgeable in various educational approaches (Montessori, Reggio Emilia, play‑based, academic) and able to explain them clearly
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with children and families
- Having your own vehicle is a strong asset (for possible student pick‑up support)
- Responsible Adult / ECEA / ECE Certification (or actively working toward it)
- Experience tutoring children or youth in Math and English
- Clean Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
- Valid First Aid/CPR-C (or willingness to obtain)
- Class 5 Driver’s License (asset)
- Speaking a secondary language fluently
- Knowledge of special education practices is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, families, and colleagues.

Job Types: Part‑time, Casual
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $18.75-$25.49 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Maple Ridge, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
