Licensed Practical Nurse – Long Term Care | FULL TIME or CASUAL Agency Contract | Maple Ridge, BC

$37.50 per hour

1 Year Experience (LTC) Mandatory

8–12 hour shifts for full time or casual positions

Agency contract through Hero Care

• 1 year minimum experience
• Licensed Practical Nursing license in good standing with the Provincial College of Nurses
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)

• Patient care
• Head-to-toe assessment
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Patient/family education and instruction

• Plan and manage patient care according to each patient’s needs
• Interview patients and record their medical history and physical condition
• Obtain patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration
• Provide routine care for patients
• Observe patients’ health
• Review medical charts
• Accompany patients to their rooms
• Assist physicians and registered nurses
• Communicate with patients and their families
• Perform standard diagnostic procedures, including EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, PFT, and Doppler
• Prepare specimens for lab courier
• Administer medications
• Provide wound care
• Prepare and administer injections and/or enemas
• Assist with patient comfort
• Monitor catheters

• Maintain care standards
• Perform diagnostic tests
• Communicate with doctors and residents to keep everyone updated on test results and treatment recommendations
• Monitor resident care

• Comply with Human Resources, Corporate, and Department policies
• Provide satisfactory vulnerable sector check
• Maintain Licensed Practical Nurse class license with the Provincial College of Nurses
