Pickett’s Village Bar in Maplewood is looking for an Assistant General Manager to join our team. We are a new Modern American gastropub with a simple mission: make people happy. We are passionate about taking great care of our employees, our guests, and our community. We are obsessed with building a positive, empowering, and supportive culture. PVB serves delicious food and drinks people crave. The menu features bistro classics, seasonal fare, craft cocktails, 24 beers on tap and a very interesting, well thought out wine menu.

The Position:

Assist directly with hiring and training decisions for the front of house team.

Say yes! Always try to find a way to accommodate a request.

Guide guests through their experience by offering specials, recommending cocktails, and providing suggestions

Observe the entire dining experience ensuring that every meal and every moment exceeds expectations.

Oversee and ensure that all company systems and policies are maintained.

Make sure all new employee go through the proper training and have all the necessary tools to be successful in their position.

Enforce and maintain all labor laws and practices.

Assist the General Manager in all forecasting and budgeting.

Desired Experience:

3+ years of progressive management experience as an AGM or Head Server/Captain in a well-rated, service-driven restaurant or boutique hotel

Excellent communication and critical thinking decision-making skills

Experience meeting financial goals, managing P&L

Experience hiring, training and mentoring a diverse hourly FOH staff of at least 25 people

Ability to drive and measure performance/success

Proven ability to work well under pressure and adapt quickly to change.
