Marblehead Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide direct support to students with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and behavioral or communication needs. The RBT will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement individualized behavior plans, collect data, and support students across school environments.
Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and small-group ABA-based instruction using evidence-based strategies (DTT, NET, prompting, reinforcement systems).
- Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) with fidelity under BCBA supervision.
- Collect accurate, ongoing behavioral and skill acquisition data.
- Support students in general education and special education settings, including transitions, specials, lunch, and recess.
- Assist with crisis prevention and intervention following district-approved protocols (QBS).
- Collaborate with teachers, BCBAs, related service providers, and other support staff.
- Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in required training, team meetings, and professional development.
The compensation is a competitive hourly rate based on experience and district salary schedule.
Job Requirements- Current RBT certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire).
- Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructional and behavioral protocols.
- Ability to lift, move, or support students as needed and participate in safety-related procedures.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Associate degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
- Experience in a school-based ABA program.
- Coursework or training in psychology, education, or applied behavior analysis.
- Familiarity with data collection systems (e.g., ACE) and ABA methodologies.
Position may involve working in multiple school settings depending on student needs. Requires frequent movement, physical prompting, and occasional crisis-intervention support. Supervised directly by district BCBAs and building administrators. Other duties as assigned by Building Principal or Student Services Administration.
