Position Overview
This is an applicant pool for part‑time Astronomy faculty in the Department of Science and Engineering.
Teaching AreasThe areas taught by this department include Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics, Nutrition, and Geology.
Early College FacultyEarly College faculty teach face‑to‑face classes between 8:15 am and 2:00 pm, two to four days a week. Students taking Early College classes are dually enrolled in their local high school while also completing courses at CSM toward a certificate or degree.
ResponsibilitiesCSM is looking for dynamic individuals who can implement the comprehensive mission of a community college by assessing, documenting, and improving student learning through instruction.
Qualifications- Master's degree in the discipline of instruction OR Master's in any field AND 15 hours in the discipline OR sufficient experience in lieu of either requirement, as approved by VPAA.
- Community college teaching and/or online teaching experience desired.
- Subject matter/content expertise in your field.
- Enthusiasm and passion for student learning and ability to respond to the needs of students using a variety of teaching methods including new technologies.
