Position Overview

LAN VoIP Network Specialist II Senior – Joint Base Andrews, MD. This role provides voice systems maintenance and support for the 844th Communication Group (CG). Responsibilities include installing, configuring, administering, managing, updating, and providing operational support for Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and its components. The candidate must understand enhanced 911 systems, Defense Information Systems Agency Unified Capabilities Requirements, and Time Division Multiplexing (TDM).

Job Functions
  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for voice systems.
  • Ensure the entire voice solution complies with all DISA STIGs and AF TCNOs by implementing firmware, software, and hardware changes as necessary.
  • Install, configure, administer, manage, and maintain Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and its components.
  • Deliver comprehensive IT support including transitions, operating, maintaining, restoring, protecting, backing up, and refreshing CUCM telephony and associated infrastructure systems.
  • Keep all CUCM components – servers, Unity Messaging System, databases, physical phones, soft clients, operating systems, gateways, switches, routers, firmware, software, and hardware – updated to meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Provide emergency voice LAN troubleshooting within 30 minutes of notification and resolve any emergency voice outage within two (2) hours.
  • Provide routing network troubleshooting and maintenance following the Government's Authorized Service Interruption (ASI) process.
  • Prepare and maintain project planning documentation, create and maintain LAN/voice network maps and diagrams, and input all relevant information into network monitoring tools such as Cisco Prime Infrastructure and Solar Winds.
  • Conduct research, load applicable software, hardware, or firmware updates, and install new equipment physically and virtually.
  • Use the Government‑provided ticket system to process, log, and close out trouble tickets, change requests, and work orders.
  • Support traditional telephony: time‑division multiplex switching, Nortel circuit‑based switches, ISDN trunking, CAS trunking, DSN operations including MLPP and PBX knowledge.
  • Integrate voice services including conference call hosting, voicemail, call center capabilities, emergency 911 services, DHCP, T‑Metrics, voicemail, and DSN access with CUCM.
  • Ensure all voice equipment complies with all AF Enterprise CM Policies and is listed on relevant inventories.
  • Support decommissioning of legacy telephony and migration to IP‑based telephony.
  • Provide training as requested.
Minimum

Position Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in network administration in a network/voice support environment.
  • Secret Security Clearance.
  • Security+ Certification.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) with Voice Over IP experience (CCNP Voice or Collaboration) and valid CCNP credentials.
