Under the supervision of the Assistant Patron Services Manager, this position is responsible for providing assistance to patrons using public computers and technology resources. This position ensures the computer lab operates smoothly, supports patrons with basic technology needs, and maintains a welcoming, safe, and orderly environment.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION- Basic knowledge of computers, internet use, and common software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs
- Ability to empathize and relate to patron needs
- Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear, approachable manner
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Patience and ability to work with diverse populations, including beginners
- Ability to troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues
- Attention to detail and ability to enforce policies consistently
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High School Diploma or the equivalent with a minimum of one-year work experience
- Minimum of one (1) year work experience
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work assignments.
- Provide courteous and patient assistance to patrons using computers, printers, scanners, and other technology
- Help patrons with basic computer tasks
- Accessing online resources and library databases
- Monitor computer lab usage to ensure compliance with library policies and time limits
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues and escalate more complex problems to the Manager
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the computer lab and equipment
- Assist patrons with logging into computer systems and using library applications (e.g., print management systems)
- Enforce library behavior and acceptable use policies in a professional and respectful manner
- Provide basic instruction or one-on-one guidance for patrons with varying levels of digital literacy
- Report equipment malfunctions, supply needs, or incidents to supervisor
- Support opening and closing procedures for the computer lab
- May assist with technology-related programs, classes, or workshops
- Participates in relevant training, continuing education, and/or professional development.
- Other duties as deemed necessary.

This position may require working during any of the hours that the Library is open, including evenings and weekends. Although a regular weekly schedule is established, the needs of the Library may require schedule changes and flexibility
