CEM Corporation (Matthews, NC) is seeking a highly self-motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. In this pivotal role, you will drive innovation and design excellence throughout the product development process. Collaborating with cross-functioning teams, you will develop advance technologies for scientific instruments utilized in various laboratory environments. Responsibilities:

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities Include but not limited to:

Responsible for the physical design of instruments, including electromechanical, fluidic and optical components.

Collaborate with electronics and software engineers to integrate their efforts within the product development team.

Develop prototypes for testing and conduct evaluations to identify design issues or opportunities for improvements.

Document designs including 3D Models, Drawings and Assembly Procedures.

Identify & troubleshoot problems through entire product life cycle.

New Product Development & New Product Introduction

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field (physics, applied math, electrical engineering, chemistry). Master’s Degree a plus.
10+ Years as a mechanical engineer (or related) involved in the design of innovative electromechanical systems.

Must have significant experience working in a multi-disciplinary project team, with a proven record of design innovation.

Familiarity with 3-D CAD modeling is required;
Creo Parametric experience is a plus.
