Summary:

To work as a nurse at Sunshine, you must have a strong interest in providing nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities that supports our mission: to create community among people with developmental disabilities, their families, friends, and staff.

• LPNs $27.30 - $32.86 per hour
• RNs $32.86 - $37.00 per hour

• Act as a representative for Sunshine and the nursing department
• Consult with physician, consultants and other clinical and medical professionals regarding individual medical plans and treatments under the guidance of the DON and ADON
• Provide consistent, high quality medical care to individuals of Sunshine, including dispensing of medications and IV therapies as permitted by practice act and policy
• Prepare, dispense, administer and document medications in a safe, organized manner as permitted by practice act and outlined in Nursing Policies and Procedures
• Maintain adequate daily records for treatments, unusual incidents, daily running report, and BM charts – checking of suppositories and enemas as needed
• Deliver and administer treatments as scheduled, documenting the results seen
• Make emergency medical decisions and carry them out appropriately
• Assist in emergencies and provide services in other units as needed
• Report trends or patterns and all unusual occurrences to Nursing Leadership
• Provide education and mentoring to individuals, staff, and families with instructions provided by Nursing Leadership and/or the Physician
• Manage orders for medication, medication storage, medical supplies and equipment for individuals while maintaining a clean and organized area
• Participate daily in reports to and from the floor nurse
• Participate in Medicaid Documentation as directed and in both Medicaid and Licensure surveys as scheduled
• Follow all Federal, State and organizational regulations and policies
• Complete filing as necessary
• Other duties as assigned
• Expected to regularly work in all areas as assigned in addition to duties listed above

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the State of Ohio
• Valid Driver’s License, good driving record and proof of auto insurance
• Pass criminal background, drug screen, physical & PT assessment
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• 18 years or older
