Plant Controller
Location: Mayfield Heights, OH
Compensation: $ - $ plus variable incentive, 401K, medical, dental, vision, life & disability, and well-being resources.
Role Overview: The Plant Controller is responsible for financial management, cost accounting, and overall accounting activities supporting manufacturing plant operations. The role ensures compliance with accounting standards and internal controls while providing financial insight to drive operational performance and decision-making. The position acts as a key business partner to plant leadership, translating financial data into actionable recommendations that support efficiency, cost optimization, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Manage cost accounting and inventory processes, including standard cost updates, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
- Oversee general accounting activities such as journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and support for audits and internal controls.
- Analyze financial performance and provide insights on plant operations, including P&L reporting and variance explanations.
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning activities for assigned manufacturing sites.
- Partner with operations and cross-functional teams to improve performance, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, general accounting, and financial reporting in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of accounting standards and internal control frameworks (e.g., US GAAP, SOX).
- Experience using ERP systems for financial and operational reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate insights to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence decision-making within a plant environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA, MBA, or other relevant professional certification.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems (S/4
HANA preferred). - Demonstrated experience supporting manufacturing operations with strong business partnership skills.
