Job Title: Buyer Level 1

Job description:
This position is responsible for executing purchased part terms (i.e. pricing, lead time, lot sizes, payment terms, etc.) for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
Major responsibilities
Prepare Requests for Quotation (RFQ). Analyze and summarize quotations using a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) approach. Facilitate negotiation of supply agreements. Track New Product purchased part cost and provide information to NPI team and Sourcing Managers. Archive quotations in the Quote storage database. Execute cost reduction and productivity tactics directly aligned with New Product cost targets. Manage NPI purchased part lead time.
Prepare/handle Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA’s) for NPI projects. Monitor SAP NPI part setup and resolve issues. Perform NPI BOM scrubs and identify opportunities for cost optimization. Drive NPI part and supplier risk mitigation. Facilitate NPI Supply Chain Readiness and generate data related to supply chain health as needed. Use SAP and other enterprise systems and programs to collect and analyze data.
Key responsibilities:

• Facilitate Supply Chain Material Readiness and support optimal time to market by facilitating meetings and tracking materials. Work with production buyers to execute timely new parts set up.
• Manage resolution of escalated material shortages for the New Product teams.
• Prepare/handle Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA’s).
• Perform NPI project BOM scrubs.
• Reduce product risk through proper sourcing strategy execution. Drive use of ‘Preferred’ suppliers.
Provide business unit stakeholders with supply chain risk consultation which include obsolescence, delivery, currency, logistics, political and other risks.
• Support and maintain ERP accuracy and resolve issues, on-time delivery and lead time accuracy.
• Assist in early communication of material planning forecasts to suppliers of critical components throughout NPI development cycle.
• Support of overall productivity improvement efforts and management reporting.
• Review drawings and engineer change notices (ECN’s).
• Convert shopping carts into purchase orders, managed order confirmation and conduct invoice resolution as required.
• Participate in cross-functional NPI team activities.
• Represent client’s when interfacing with other companies.
• Comply with all client’s policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or Equivalent discipline or Associate’s degree in Engineering or Technology around electrical circuits
• At least one year of buyer experience
• Demonstrated understanding of MRP, inventory, and production principles.
• Experience and demonstrated proficiency using Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookups.

Desired Qualifications
• SAP experience desired.
• New Product purchasing experience desired.

Travel
This position will have limited travel to Rockwell Automation and supplier locations (US and int’l).
Position Requirements
College,   3 to 4 Years work experience
