Controller - Acute

Overview

UHS is hiring a Controller at South Texas Health System – McAllen located in McAllen, Texas. The facility, a full‑service acute‑care center, offers a wide range of medical services and has a long history in the community.

• Provide direct oversight of the finance department including General Ledger, Payroll, Accounts Payable and Decision Support staff.
• Interact with all hospital departments to ensure proper utilization and accounting of capital and operating resources in accordance with corporate and hospital financial policies.
• Participate in and possibly oversee components of the Revenue Cycle and Supply Chain such as Business Office, Care Management, Health Information Management, Clinical Documentation Improvement, and Materials Management/Supply Chain.

• 5+ years of experience coordinating and/or supervising acute‑care hospital or medical‑center finance staff (Accounts Payable, Decision Support, General Ledger, Payroll).
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Computer hardware/software skills required.
• Completion of required training programs.
• Bachelor’s degree required; CPA preferred.
