About the roleThe Quality Control Inspector is responsible for all aspects of the Quality Control of Naturipe Avocados. Our ideal candidate combines technical expertise with a focus on optimizing quality assurance procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance, and continuously improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our inspection process. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for enhancement, resolve quality issues, and maintain our rigorous quality standards by following inspection protocols to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local food protection standards.
Whatyou will accomplish
- Perform quality inspections of incoming, outgoing product, in repack and in inventory
- Apply company and USDA standards to evaluate the quality of product PTI compliance, and food traceability
- Compile accurate QC reports for inspections
- Full collaboration with external Inspectors such as USDA, FDA, etc.
- Maintain equipment used in inspection process and store in a safe environment
- Follow food safety protocols for specific facility
- Perform AD hoc warehouse tasks and participate in Special Project as directed by Supervisor
- Inspects outbound orders for age fruit or VIP customers.
- Monitors the quality of all product to ensure items meet standards to ship to our customers.
- Advises on quality of purchase products determining if product should be accepted or rejected.
- Utilizes Portal and SAP systems for all processes and documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food safety, Chemistry, Ag Business, or similar agricultural or science field
- preferred, high school certificate required
- 2 to 5+ years’ experience in QC position with similar responsibilities, produce environment preferred
- Spanish and English written/verbal skills required
- Must be able to be certified as a qualified Individual per FDA specifications for the FSVP, Preventive Controls Rule and the Produce Rule. (This can happen post-hire).
- Position requires proven ability to effectively interface with all levels of management, technical and administrative staff
