Customer Service Rep, Bilingual, Bank Customer Service
Role
The Customer Service Representative assists customers and potential customers with their banking needs, including paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments, explaining services, setting up new accounts, and responding to problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Receives and processes customer financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments; transfers amounts from customer accounts as directed.
- Posts transactions to customer accounts and maintains customer records.
- Welcomes customers and provides routine information concerning services and directs customers to the appropriate department for specific information and service.
- Balances cash drawer and daily transactions.
- Assists customer inquiries in person and over the phone.
- Opens new accounts and performs account maintenance.
- Supports customer online banking inquiries.
- Research (missing items).
- Reviews reports to ensure compliance with government regulations and bank policies are being met.
- Processes ACH and wire transfers.
- Maintains strict confidentiality.
- Promotes bank's services and makes referrals to other bank departments.
- Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Provides informed, prompt, and accurate service and support to all customers and associates.
- Processes customer transactions in accordance with bank policy.
- Troubleshoots and resolves customer and internal inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
- Opens new accounts and ensures that all related forms and documents are completed and scanned in a timely manner.
- Education:
High school diploma or GED. - Experience:
One month to twelve months of similar or related cash handling and customer service experience. - Interpersonal skills:
Extensive personal contact with others; basic accounting procedures; knowledge of office equipment; strong customer service skills; enjoys working with the public.
The employee may occasionally be required to carry loads up to 24 lbs. The job may involve bending, squatting, reaching above shoulder level, crouching, kneeling, balancing, pushing and pulling equipment. Fine manipulation with both hands is required. The employee can expect to sit about six hours in an eight‑hour day.
