The Operations Hardware Quality Engineer will provide quality engineering support to Raytheon programs to ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include improving product design, minimizing inspection, resolving manufacturing defects, performing data preparation, analyses, reporting, and conducting product and process audits for compliance.
WhatYou Will Do
- Support process improvements initiatives.
- Support Process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis on processes and products to prevent product defects and mitigate risk.
- Support implementation of product Quality Control Plans.
- Lead and support root cause and corrective action activities.
- Act on all applicable material, product and equipment alerts to prevent impact to product reliability using the nonconformance and/or purge process.
- Manage dropped and damaged hardware processing and incident reporting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
- Relevant experience is in the field of quality, operations or manufacturing engineering.
- Experience with AS9100 or ISO
9001 Quality Management systems. - Experience with GD&T, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing measurement resources and practices.
- Experience with technical procedures, specifications, standards, and other engineering and manufacturing documents.
- U.S. citizenship is required. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- Current DoD clearance.
- Previous experience with First Article Inspections (AS9102) and/or Advanced Product Quality Planning (AS9145).
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well with team members, customers, and suppliers.
- Ability to exercise sound judgement and apply decision‑making skills with appropriate supervisory intervention.
- Perform autonomous, self‑guided process and product assessments, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action.
- Ability to effectively multitask and prioritize.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies (Kaizen, Lean, Define/Measure/Analyze/Improve/Control (DMAIC), and Define/Measure/Analyze/Design/Verify (DMADV)) and resources (Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Capability Analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)).
- Experience working in an aerospace‑related manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with Project Management techniques.
- Familiarity with microelectronic fab, manufacturing and assembly.
