Job OverviewWe are seeking a System Engineer 4 in our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. The role involves designing, engineering, integrating, operating, and maintaining electronic security services—including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audiovisual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems—for federal, local, and commercial customers.
Responsibilities- Assist in the analysis, evaluation, engineering, and implementation of system improvements, optimization, and deployments.
- Develop and implement technology and solution roadmaps to meet customer strategic goals and mission priorities.
- Develop and implement designs for large, complex multi‑site data center infrastructure and virtualised environment solutions.
- Document designs and changes to data center infrastructure environments, including physical/logical drawings, engineering design plans, implementation plans, transition plans, test plans, and fail‑over plans.
- Implement, test, and operate large complex data center and virtualised compute, storage, and network environments.
- Research, prototype, and develop emerging technologies in collaboration with industry partners and OEMs to meet customer emerging needs.
Security Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Top‑Secret clearance.
Education/
Experience:
- Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of progressive experience.
- Experience developing and implementing hardware and software solutions for data center and virtual infrastructure technologies.
Core Platform and Services
Experience:
- VMware ESXi and vSphere
- Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and 2019
- Windows 10 deployment and administration, DNS, DFS, DHCP, Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM (OSD)
- Data center networking fundamentals (software‑defined data center networks a plus)
- Data center storage fundamentals (SAN and NAS protocols)
- Virtualisation of enterprise applications (Active Directory, MS SQL, RHEL, SharePoint, Unified Communications)
- High‑security, reliable solutions meeting cybersecurity and information assurance requirements
- Data centre automation, IaaS, API management, scripting (Power Shell, Python, JSON, Bash)
- DoD 8570 IAT Level‑II certification
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills, including communication with executive leadership
- Experience developing cost estimates and work breakdown structures for complex projects
- Experience providing technical cross‑training/coaching to junior colleagues
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and meeting deadlines
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time
Desired / Advantageous
Qualifications:
- Experience with hyper‑converged architectures such as Cisco Hyper‑Flex, Nutanix
- Experience with Cisco UCS, Fabric Interconnects and similar technologies
- Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (Citrix, VMware Horizon)
- On‑premise storage engineering with Net App, Dell/EMC, Pure Storage
- Experience designing and deploying collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Share Point
- Experience designing and deploying SQL database infrastructure such as Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience engineering and implementing data centre and campus area networks and security stacks
- Experience with software‑defined network environments and DoD IT security requirements (DISA STIG/SRGs)
- Vendor certifications with VMware, Cisco, Microsoft, Net App
