ResponsibilitiesThe Strategic Small Business Sourcer is a high‑impact, front‑end supply chain builder responsible for aggressively developing and positioning a national network of high‑performing small business partners that directly increases M.C. Dean’s probability of winning and executing complex federal projects.
This role is not transactional procurement—it is a proactive, outward‑facing "hunter" role focused on building a competitive advantage through supplier intelligence, speed, and depth. The Sourcer identifies, qualifies, and develops small businesses aligned to M.C. Dean’s core project types (mission critical facilities, data centers, energy infrastructure, secure federal environments, and complex electrical/mechanical systems). Sitting within the Purchasing Service Center, this role operates in tight coordination with the Federal Small Business Planner but is clearly differentiated: the Planner owns strategy, compliance, and proposal integration, while the Sourcer owns market development, pipeline creation, and supplier readiness.
