Overview

Are you an educator committed to growth and collaborative collegiality? Montrose School is an independent Catholic school for girls in grades 6-12, located in Medfield, 17 miles southwest of Boston. Founded in 1979, Montrose attracts a talented student population from over 50 towns and communities and is guided by the school’s mission – educating young women who are called to greatness.

The school seeks to appoint an experienced and innovative middle and upper school science teacher for our collegial and robust Science Department starting August 2026.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished teacher of biology or chemistry who brings passion for the subject and for coaching adolescent girls to develop proficiency in logical scientific inquiry and investigation while fostering a growth mindset. We seek teachers who are passionate about their subjects, dedicated to guiding students in strong academic habits, and committed to collaborating, reflecting and growing in their teaching practice.

Responsibilities
  • Teach biology or chemistry to middle and/or upper school students with clarity and engagement.
  • Foster logical scientific inquiry and investigation and support the development of strong academic habits and a growth mindset.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, reflect on practice, and grow in teaching effectiveness.
  • Serve as a mentor to individual students and as a club leader or advisor as appropriate.
Qualifications
  • Significant coursework in a relevant subject (biology or chemistry); a master’s degree is preferred but not required.
  • Interest in curriculum development and enthusiasm for connecting girls with opportunities for exploration of science-related professional study.
  • An appreciation for an all-girls’ education; teaching experience of three years or more is preferred.
  • Qualified applicants should submit a letter of interest, a resume, and three references.
