Test Engineering Technician

Job Description

The Test Engineering Technician performs hands-on electrical and functional testing to support the validation of electrical systems in a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on diagnosing issues, executing test plans, and collaborating closely with engineering and production teams to ensure systems and assemblies operate reliably and meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

+ Perform electrical and functional testing on systems and assemblies in a manufacturing environment.

+ Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and test-related issues to support reliable system performance.

+ Support test stations, including equipment setup, configuration, and validation activities.

+ Work closely with engineering and production teams to identify, analyze, and resolve test failures and product issues.

+ Follow and execute established test procedures, test plans, and work instructions accurately and consistently.

+ Document test results, observed issues, and corrective actions in a clear and organized manner.

+ Assist in the continuous improvement of testing processes, methods, and tools.

+ Use test equipment and electrical measurement tools to validate system performance and diagnose faults.

+ Provide day-to-day support to engineering or production teams during testing and troubleshooting activities.

Essential Skills

+ Strong electrical troubleshooting ability, with the capability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues.

+ Mid-level input/output (I/O) knowledge and understanding.

+ Solid understanding of electrical systems, components, and their interactions.

+ Experience working in manufacturing, test, or production environments.

+ Experience working with test equipment and electrical systems.

+ Ability to follow detailed procedures, test plans, and work instructions.

+ Ability to work independently while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.

+ Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

+ Prior experience supporting engineering or production teams in a technical capacity.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Associate degree in test, manufacturing, or technical support-related fields, or equivalent experience.

+ Background in test engineering or test development activities.

+ Familiarity with creating or executing test plans.

+ Exposure to programming or scripting languages such as Python and C#.

+ General engineering knowledge related to electrical and test engineering technology.

Work Environment

This position operates within a contract manufacturing environment focused on large-form assembly. Work is primarily hands-on around test stations, electrical systems, and production equipment. The role involves close collaboration with engineering and production teams on the manufacturing floor, with an emphasis on supporting ongoing production and continuous improvement. The position is structured as contract-to-hire with opportunities for long-term growth in a growing manufacturing organization.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
