Preschool Instructional Assistant - Substitute Part Time
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree or 60 college credit hours required at the time of hire OR pass the Para Pro Test provided by the district.

Compensation and Benefits:
- Base Rate: $19.64
- Performance Pay:
Available annually - Experience Bonus: 1% of the base hourly rate for each year of verified like experience beyond the requirement, up to ten years
- Education Bonus: 1% of the base hourly rate for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position
Class/Calendar and Hours:
- Class: B21, 9.25 months
- Hours:
Part-time, 29 hours per week
FSLA Status: Non-Exempt

Overview:
To assist (under direct supervision) in the supervision and instruction of preschool students; to provide assistance to the teacher in overall classroom activities; to assist the teacher in all areas of the daily school routine.
Qualifications:
- 6 months experience with preschool children and 60 credits in early childhood OR the ability to pass the Parapro test.
- Ability to work well in stressful situations
- Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to work well with children, staff, and parents; maintain confidentiality
- Computer proficiency, including basic skills in using the district’s Google platform
- Ability to operate standard office machines
- Organizational and workload prioritization skills with minimal supervision
Responsibilities:
- Perform instructional tasks under teacher’s direction to support learning
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Assist students individually or in groups to reinforce learning concepts
- Confer with teachers to evaluate student progress
- Develop classroom materials to support lesson plans
- Assist in collecting data on academic and behavioral goals
- Maintain instructional equipment
- Monitor students and environment to promote positive behavior and safety
- Support students with personal care needs if required
- Model professional and respectful behavior
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure classroom effectiveness
- Assist other personnel as needed
- May lift, push, pull, or carry weights up to 30-35 lbs
- May require physical intervention and exposure to outdoor elements
