We are seeking a highly respected Interiors Practice Leader (PL) to lead and grow our Corporate Interiors practice in Florida, with an initial and primary focus on Miami. This role requires a seasoned professional with deep regional market knowledge, a strong professional reputation, and a demonstrated ability to build, market, and lead a high‑performing interiors practice.
The Practice Leader will be responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the practice, expanding market presence, strengthening client relationships, and mentoring design talent while serving as a visible ambassador in the Florida corporate interiors market.
RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership- In collaboration with the Director of Interiors, define and execute the strategic vision, growth plan, and market positioning for the Corporate Interiors practice in Florida.
- Serve as the public face of the interiors practice in Miami and across the state, building brand awareness and market credibility.
- Actively cultivate a high‑performance, values‑driven studio culture grounded in mentorship, accountability, and design excellence.
- Lead by example in fostering sustainability, innovation, and client‑focused design solutions.
- May serve as Project Manager or Principal‑in‑Charge on select key projects.
- Assist the Interior Design Director and Marketing Principal in organizing, budgeting, and delivering design competitions.
- Play a lead role in originating, pursuing, and securing new corporate interiors work.
- Identify emerging opportunities and proactively build relationships with corporate clients, developers, brokers, consultants, and contractors.
- Partner with marketing and leadership teams on strategic pursuits, design competitions, and go‑to‑market initiatives.
- Contribute to and help execute the annual business plan for the interiors practice.
- Assist in developing fee proposals, pursuit strategies, and client presentations.
- Maintain active involvement in professional associations and industry organizations relevant to the Florida and corporate interiors markets.
- Prepare and deliver design staff evaluations; responsible for performance development, compensation decision‑making, and allocation processes of the department.
- Participate in interviews and recruitment of professional staff.
- Encourage staff exploration and innovation to achieve project design excellence and continual improvement.
- Conduct employee performance evaluations.
- Lead office design reviews and critiques.
- Develop continuing education opportunities (site visits, lectures, road trips) to expose design staff to new influences.
- Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture or equivalent via education or experience;
Master's degree preferred. - 15+ years of progressive interior architectural experience; 20+ years preferred, particularly within Florida.
- Proven success in corporate interiors environments.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams, clients, and complex projects through post‑occupancy.
- Must be a professional Interior Designer and have passed the NCIDQ exam or be a registered Architect with current license required.
- If registered Architect, NCARB registration preferred.
- LEED credential required after 12 months of employment.
- Deep knowledge of interior design, workplace trends, construction methodology, materials, and building systems.
- Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems.
- Advanced knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines.
- Ability to manage multiple projects of a complex scope.
- Strong hand‑drawing and advanced CAD drafting skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop and Revit;
