Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Academic Coach, Alpha - $150,000/year USD

You understand that refusing to lower expectations is one of the most generous acts in education. Your background includes competition, creation, or performance at a level that places you in rare company: elite-level athletics, graduation with honors from a top-tier institution, employment at a highly selective organization, or a business you launched and grew independently. Now imagine channeling that rigor into a setting where K‑12 students encounter, perhaps for the first time, an adult whose credentials mirror excellence—someone determined to raise them to standards they never imagined meeting.

If the idea of maintaining elite benchmarks feels too demanding, this opportunity is not for you.

Alpha employs AI‑driven 1‑on‑1 instruction to help students complete core academics in roughly two hours daily. The remaining hours are devoted to life skills, passion projects, and authentic development. At Alpha’s most demanding campuses, students require more than oversight; they need a credible mentor whose personal accomplishments establish expectations and who can assess group dynamics, shape culture, and guide learners through obstacles, disengagement, and uncertainty.

Instruction is not your responsibility. AI manages the academic delivery. Your responsibility is to inspire, coach, and enforce the same rigorous standards you have applied to yourself. Forty percent of your time involves direct 1‑on‑1 and small‑group coaching to identify barriers and establish stretch goals. Another forty percent is spent facilitating structured life‑skills sessions designed for competency, not amusement. The final twenty percent is dedicated to morning sessions that set a daily tone rejecting mediocrity.

The trajectory emphasizes depth over advancement. Initially, you absorb Alpha’s operating model and earn student trust. Within a few months, you become the individual they trust enough to surpass their perceived limits. The payoff is not a title change—it is continuity with the same cohort, year after year, as you remain a consistent presence.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Conducting 1‑on‑1 and small‑group coaching using Coachbot analytics and student performance metrics to identify obstacles, establish challenging objectives, and ensure accountability
  • Facilitating structured life‑skills workshops designed for mastery, drawing on credible narratives from your own high‑level experience, and evaluating competency via Alpha’s Test2

    Pass framework
  • Establishing campus‑wide cultural expectations each morning through focused opening sessions that reinforce high‑performance norms
  • Monitoring student advancement in real time and modifying coaching approaches based on evidence rather than intuition
  • Cultivating trusted mentoring relationships with students and families through consistency, elevated standards, and documented motivation frameworks
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Delivering lessons, creating curriculum, or evaluating assignments—Alpha’s AI‑powered academic platform manages instruction; your focus is motivation
  • Presenting to a full classroom of 30 learners (your work centers on high‑touch coaching in intimate settings, not mass instruction)
  • Supervising other personnel or pursuing an administrative career path (this role prioritizes direct student influence, not organizational management)
  • Attending faculty meetings or navigating institutional bureaucracy (your schedule remains student‑centered)
  • Compromising standards to satisfy performance indicators (if a student achieves 99%, your task is to identify what prevented 100%)
