Position: Machinist II (Manual Machining) - 2nd shift

As a Machinist, you'll perform setup, manual operations on a variety of machining equipment. You will also do engine component repairs that will restore, modify, or create precise dimensions and surfaces that meet engineering specifications.

What you'll do:

* Machine products to tight tolerances.

* Read and interpret specification manuals, blueprints, templates and layouts to determine machining operation to be performed.

* Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometers.

* Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces.

* Adjust and set up machine tools for use by machining tool operators.

* Participate in the cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements.

* Work independently and as a team to achieve maximum quality.

* Carry out other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

* 2 or more years of experience with manual machining.

* 2 or more years of experience operating lathes or mills and using measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, gauges, micrometers).

* Ability to sit or stand at least 50% of work shift.

* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Desired Skills

* VTL (Vertical Turning Lathe) experience.

* High degree of mechanical aptitude, accuracy and precision.

* Ability to read and interpret manuals and technical drawings.

* Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
