QAI laboratories is a testing, inspection and certification organization providing services to manufacturers of Electrical Products, Building Products, Vehicles, Factory Built Structures, and other regulated products. Recognition of the QAI name and logo have grown significantly over the past years, resulting in business expansion. We are looking for Lab Technicians to join our Building Products team in Miami, FL. The ideal candidate is motivated, hands‑on, and interested in product testing, with the ability to read and comprehend testing specifications.

Preference for candidates with window testing background and experience in testing products. Flexibility in work schedule and willingness to work overtime is ideal.

• Build test fixtures and assemblies
• Execute provided work instructions
• Assist senior technicians as assigned
• Clean up and organize inventory
• Prepare written and verbal reports for clients and management
• Learn and grow within the organization
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or designee

• Microsoft Office (Excel and Word required; other programs an asset)
• Safe working practices with construction tools
• 1–2 years of experience using a variety of power tools in a construction setting
• 1–2 years experience using electrical or manual tools
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
• Good knowledge of and adherence to safety standards
• Attention to detail
• Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
• Team player
• Good time‑management skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Experience working at an ISO 17025 accredited testing laboratory
• Experience in the inspection and certification industry
• Knowledge of common ASTM test methods related to building products
• Experience working in diverse teams of engineers, operations, sales, and marketing
• Flexibility in work schedule and willingness to work overtime

• Accepts instruction and follows it for testing outside of general scope
• Graspes general concepts in testing and applies to specific methods
• Performs simple testing and graduates to more complex methods as knowledge grows
• Seeks assistance from senior personnel when needed
• Good working knowledge of test methods in specific discipline
• Multi‑tasks with efficiency and accuracy
• Maintains ownership and responsibility for assigned projects

• Forklift experience or certification
• Previous experience in construction industry
