The Sales Manager bears responsibility for researching, soliciting, and securing new business opportunities for the hotels through the execution of the following duties.
Essential Functions- Solicit room, food, beverage, and other sales as directed by the designated market segment and negotiate and close business for the hotels.
- Coordinate contracts, reservations, and payments with all contract business.
- Actively participate in the community, maximizing networking opportunities, and attend industry-related organizations and trade shows.
- Manage room booking and payment information for contract accounts to ensure smooth communication with all departments.
- Develop and continually enhance relationships with key accounts to maintain and increase our market share.
- Maintain consistent and timely verbal and written communication with clients and departments of the hotel.
- Attend and actively participate in weekly sales meetings.
- Maintain accurate, complete Sales Pro data – (sales call quotas and traces)/ Demonstrate knowledge of, adherence to, and enforcement of all company and brand standards.
- Responsible for keeping and updating a quarterly sales workbook where sales activities and tasks can be planned and measured.

Manages day-to-day operations of the Sales Department under the direction of the Director of Sales.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Work areas may occasionally be noisy.
Physical DemandsThe employee is required to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull items weighing 25 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
Position TypeThis is a full-time, salaried exempt position. The individual is expected to maintain a consistent work schedule, understanding that after-hours events and other sales demands may require adjustments to attendance.
TravelLocal and non-local travel is required for this position.
RequiredEducation and Experience
High school diploma or GED certificate. Prior experience in hospitality sales.
PreferredEducation and Experience
College degree in hospitality, business administration, or similar.
