Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

The full-time Welding Faculty member teaches a variety of Welding courses. These classes are primarily held on the Niles, MI campus and may be day or evening hours.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a trades program with welding-related coursework; OR, an Associate's degree and a certificate/certification in welding with two years welding experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Masters in a related field

• Prior teaching experience

• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Suite

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares and provides all lecture and laboratory instruction according to the required curriculum

• Maintains current course outlines, objectives, and evaluation mechanisms for the program

• Facilitates high quality instruction through the delivery of course content and materials

• Utilizes active and collaborative learning strategies and a variety of other pedagogies to engage learners

• Demonstrates safety protocols and assures a safe environment for students, faculty, and staff

• Demonstrates a deep commitment to every student's success

• Mentors part time faculty

• Maintains standing as a subject matter expert by remaining current and connected to the field

• Serves as a contributing member to the School of Business and Advanced Technology

• Serves on college committees

• Demonstrates a deep commitment to diversity and treats others fairly, with courtesy, and respect
