Bird Electric, a Black & Veatch company, is a U.S. self‑perform electrical construction services provider with a national reach in emergency power restoration. The Electrical Project Manager for Bird Electric’s Oil/Gas division manages all aspects of construction projects, including risk to cost, schedule, and quality. They are responsible for day‑to‑day successful execution of performance, financial metrics, planning, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction.

They also ensure successful staffing of the project and lead teams of multi‑discipline professionals, coordinating the activities of engineering, procurement, construction, and startup elements, as well as all third‑party companies contributing to the initiative.

• Manage all aspects of construction projects, including risk to cost, schedule, and quality.
• Ensure day‑to‑day successful execution of performance, financial metrics, planning, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction.
• Ensure successful staffing of the project.
• Lead teams of multi‑discipline professionals.
• Coordinate and integrate the activities associated with engineering, procurement, construction, and startup elements of the project team, including activities of all third‑party companies.
• Obtain new/repeat business projects and support contract negotiations.
• Manage risk which may include fixed‑price engineering, new technology, or new clients.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Must have Oil & Gas and Electrical project management experience.
• Must be able to work in Carlsbad, NM or Midland, TX areas.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, including a criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Acts as a project manager. Among responsibilities is management of a project team, the composition of which may vary by project.

Typical office and construction environments, extreme weather conditions, high noise level, safety hazards (electric currents, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals), atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation). Activities include sitting, walking, talking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, driving, filing, reaching, stooping, crouching, bending, standing for extended periods, and lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds.
