Responsibilities
Operate trucks safely and professionally on public roads, highways, yard areas, and job sites. Equipment may include semi-tractor trailers and triaxle dump trucks.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT regulations, including proper documentation.
Check and maintain fluid levels, tires, lights, and other critical systems to ensure safe operation.
Perform routine maintenance such as greasing trucks and trailers.
Maintain accurate delivery logs and daily mileage records.
Secure and tarp loads when required.
Ensure product quality during transport and delivery.
Perform minor servicing and report major mechanical issues to a supervisor.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures; report any issues promptly.
Weigh trucks at designated scales to ensure legal load compliance.
Follow dispatch instructions and adhere to all applicable laws and regulations.
Keep vehicles clean and in good working condition.
Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum of three (3) years of related driving experience required.
Valid CDL Class A or Class B license with appropriate endorsements.
Must pass a DOT physical, drug screening, and background check
Driving record must meet company, insurance, and DOT standards.
Strong commitment to safety policies and procedures.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
Strong knowledge of truck operation and related equipment.
Ability to follow instructions and exercise sound judgment.
Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Sufficient vision (with correction) including close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., including lifting the truck hood during inspections.
Ability to climb in and out of the truck multiple times per day.
