Summary

Under the direction of the Manager of Photolithography Manufacturing Engineering, the Photolithography Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for monitoring, sustaining, and supporting day‑to‑day photolithography manufacturing processes, programs, and activities. This includes providing technical support to ensure process reliability, improving process efficiency, developing and implementing cost‑reducing practices, analyzing data and creating reports, conducting root‑cause analysis and implementing corrective action, and improving production yields through process and tool manufacturability optimization.

Responsibilities
  • Monitors, sustains, and supports day‑to‑day photolithography manufacturing processes, programs, and activities to improve and optimize wafer quality and performance.
  • Ensures process reliability by providing technical support to operators, technicians, and other engineers.
  • Designs and conducts experiments to verify process robustness through characterization and improvement of process latitude.
  • Develops and implements practices or methodologies that lower cost, reduce cycle time, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Conducts root‑cause analysis and implements corrective action when required.
  • Improves production yields via process and tool manufacturability optimization.
  • Partners with other groups and departments, including process and product engineering, to develop and implement new processes that reduce scrap and improve yield.
  • Responds to inquiries from other team members, managers, or departments.
  • Uses Statistical Process Control (SPC) to analyze product quality data; develops charts or reports and presents findings before groups or teams.
  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical or Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or equivalent relevant experience;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • One to three years of hands‑on experience working in photolithography as a process or manufacturing engineer.
  • Strong experience with SPC, Design of Experiments (DOE), and photoresist modeling.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong knowledge of photolithography fabrication techniques using steppers/scanners, spin‑on photoresist tracks, and developer tools.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor device measurement tools, practices, and techniques.
  • Knowledge and experience using JMP or Excel and the ability to create macro formulas.
  • Ability to design experiments, analyze results, and recommend corrective action.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of contractors, consultants, employees, and management.
  • Ability to work productively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management.
  • Compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize.
Working Conditions

The Photolithography Manufacturing Engineer works primarily in an office environment, with occasional visits to a class 100 ESD‑sensitive wafer fabrication facility. The schedule may be altered from time‑to‑time to meet business or operational needs, and travel between sites may be required. Exposure to hazardous chemicals, fumes, vapors, and excessive noise is possible. Duties include standing, walking, fine grasping movements, bending, twisting, operating a computer, and occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds.
