To £70k Benefits Package Are you an ambitious Estimator looking to take the next step in your career with a successful and growing main contractor? I am seeking an Intermediate Estimator to join an established pre-construction team, working across a diverse portfolio of rail and civil engineering projects. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your estimating expertise within a dynamic business that delivers complex infrastructure schemes throughout the UK.
The Role Reporting to the Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in the preparation of accurate and competitive tenders for rail and civil engineering projects. You will collaborate closely with operational, commercial, and engineering teams to develop winning bids and support the company's continued growth.
Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for rail and civil engineering projects. Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation. Obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers. Conduct site visits and assess project requirements. Assist in identifying project risks and opportunities. Develop pricing schedules, cost plans, and tender adjudication documents. Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders throughout the bid process.
Maintain and update estimating databases and cost information. Requirements Previous estimating experience within the rail, civil engineering, infrastructure, or construction sectors. Understanding of tendering procedures and cost planning principles. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Strong numerical, analytical, and commercial skills. Excellent communication and organisational abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software. A proactive attitude with a desire to develop and progress within the business.
