Job SummaryThis position reports to the System Design Engineering Department and is responsible for the design, development, and test of electronic systems, components, or circuits for use within Micro Control Burn-In Systems. The candidate will use computer-assisted engineering design software and equipment to perform assignments.
Key Responsibilities- Design DC to DC switching power supplies. Designs are high current (>100A), high power (>250W), polyphase, and microcontroller controlled.
- Analog simulation and analysis of DC to DC switching power supplies.
- Select components, design and enter schematics, create BOMs, and propose PCB placement.
- Implement microcontroller code to control power supplies.
- Write test programs to verify hardware. Forward diagnostic templates to the software department for customer implementation.
- Observe existing processes and make recommendations for improvement.
- Develop user manuals that include detailed how-to, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Collaborate with Sales team and customers to define product requirements.
- Perform all other related duties as requested or assigned.
- At least 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in related field.
- Ability to work cooperatively as a team and independently.
- Strong communication and organization skills.
- Up to 5% domestic and international travel.
- 3-4 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Control loop stability design for switching power supplies.
- Experience programming microcontrollers.
- Experience writing programs in Python and/or
C. - Verilog FPGA logic design and digital simulation experience.
- Cadence All.
- Must be able to perform sedentary work, including sitting for extended periods of time.
- Ability to periodically stand, walk, crouch, stoop, bend, and reach across all planes.
- Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- May be required to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
