Konik is partnering with a well-respected, locally based construction firm to hire a Preconstruction Manager to support high-voltage infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for an experienced construction professional with a strong electrical background who wants to move upstream from project execution to design, strategy, and preconstruction planning. You will influence how projects are built, support technical and financial planning, and collaborate closely with owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners across high-voltage substation and distribution projects.
Preconstruction Manager - High Voltage Infrastructure Responsibilities
- Lead the design phase team in planning, estimating, and delivering high-voltage substation and distribution projects.
- Translate owner's vision and project requirements into constructible design solutions within defined scope, budget, and schedule.
- Provide direction on construction means, methods, materials, and logistics for design documentation.
- Coordinate efforts with trade partners and ensure design documents incorporate recommendations and expectations.
- Manage estimating processes, including cost documentation, value engineering, and life-cycle analysis.
- Mentor and evaluate design phase engineers, fostering career development and technical growth.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory approvals, risk management requirements, and quality standards across all design activities.
- Collaborate across teams to streamline workflows and continuously improve design phase processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant construction experience, preferably including design-build, electrical, or high-voltage power delivery projects.
- Proven experience overseeing design phases of large projects ($50M+), including project coordination, estimating, and cost control.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction means and methods, and design phase management.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, project scheduling software, and applicable web applications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
- Ability to navigate and influence cross-functional teams at all levels.
- Flexibility to travel periodically for project reviews, coordination, and milestone meetings.
