Berkley Risk is focused on providing worker’s compensation insurance directly to select markets and providing self-insured entities program administration services and insurance operations which can include taking or sharing risk using Berkley paper. This capability allows us to customize both an insurance company option and a purely administrative option for our customers.

Responsibilities
  • To manage and provide leadership to Claims staff and to provide efficient and effective administration of claims both directly and for claims handled on behalf of client companies.
  • Manage a select inventory of claims in accordance with best practices.
  • Provide direct oversight of third-party administrated claims in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, and training staff.
  • Directly manage and develop a team of adjusters through coaching and feedback.
  • Maintain and communicate applicable changes in legislation, case law and/or industry developments.
  • Conduct claim quality review audits.
  • Assist in business growth opportunities.
  • Participate in claim reviews with clients.

May perform other functions as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of insurance marketplace
  • Thorough knowledge of workers’ compensation rules and regulations, claim investigation, litigation management, benefit administration and statutory filing requirements.
  • Proven ability to train, establish performance objectives and evaluate employee performance.
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required.
Education
  • College degree with related work experience or High school diploma/GED plus seven years’ experience in the insurance industry;

  • Base Salary Range: $88k-$98k
