Social Services Supervisor CPS

Chisago County Health and Human Services has a vacancy for a full-time Social Services Supervisor – Child Protection Supervisor position. The role includes supervising program operations, directing staff, monitoring cases, managing budget, ensuring compliance, and supporting community relations.

• Select and supervise qualified personnel for the unit.
• Identify staff development and training needs, ensuring training is obtained.
• Evaluate staff performance and recommend appropriate actions.
• Conduct individual conferences with staff and interpret agency/state policies.
• Review case records to ensure adherence to agencies and state policies and proper social work practices.
• Monitor and evaluate the provision of client services.
• Foster effective community‑agency relations and organize community projects.
• Participate in community meetings and utilize community resources.
• Write and monitor purchase of service contracts with vendors.
• Interview clients in special cases, listen to concerns, and recommend actions.
• Handle emergency situations when necessary.
• Perform program analysis and needs assessment.
• Monitor budget and keep management apprised of deviations.
• Provide justification for budget deviations to management staff and/or county board.
• Assist in planning and development of social services budget and justify needs to county board.
• Assist in writing and developing the agency community social service plan.
• Maintain records, prepare reports, and compose correspondence related to the work.

• Master’s degree in social work, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, human services administration, or a closely related field, with one year of experience as a social worker.
• Or Baccalaureate degree in social work with two years of experience as a social worker.
• Or Baccalaureate degree in a related field (psychology, sociology, human services) with three years of experience as a social worker.
• Or Baccalaureate degree in an unrelated field with five years of experience as a social worker.

• Master’s degree in social work with supervised field placement in case management or counseling services in child welfare, and one year of supervisory experience in a county setting.
• Or Master’s degree in social work with supervised field placement in case management or counseling services in child welfare, and one to three years as a case manager in a county setting.
• Or Bachelor’s degree in social work with supervised field placement in case management services to children and families in child welfare, and one to three years of supervisory experience.
• Or Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, or a closely related field, with one to three years of supervisory experience in a human services setting.
