Overview

The Account Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of existing enterprise clients and their associated services, as directed by Sales Management. This role partners closely with National Account Executives to grow revenue from existing clients, identify new business opportunities, and enhance the overall customer experience across all services offered.

The Account Manager owns assigned client relationships and works cross-functionally to ensure the successful and timely delivery of solutions aligned with client needs.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of large, enterprise-level client accounts with multiple locations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all client-related matters, including proposals, sales, services, issue resolution, reporting, and follow-up
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality service to both internal and external customers
  • Consult with clients to identify current and future business opportunities
  • Create, track, and manage sales opportunities using Salesforce and proprietary proposal tools
  • Collaborate with sales team members to meet annual revenue goals and identify and close upsell opportunities
  • Support National Account Executives with new large-scale prospects as needed
  • Initiate new clients and opportunities through established onboarding processes
  • Coordinate client contracts, negotiations, order management, and reporting
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution
  • Provide regular business updates and performance reports to internal stakeholders and clients
  • Work with pre-sales teams to develop accurate, competitive customer proposals
  • Manage customer change orders to maximize approvals while maintaining program margins
  • Facilitate and manage assigned RFPs in collaboration with the National Account Executive
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across departments, including Project Excellence, Marketing, and Finance
  • Self-motivated with strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Effective presentation and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems, including Salesforce
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred
Experience Required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales, sales support, or customer service supporting large commercial or enterprise accounts
  • Demonstrated success in growing customer relationships and revenue
  • Experience with solution-based selling of products or services
Preferred Experience & Qualifications
  • 4–6 years of B2B sales experience with a proven record of success
  • Industry-specific experience preferred but not required
  • Service-based selling experience a plus
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Travel up to 25%
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move office supplies up to 20 pounds
