Job Summary
A plastic surgeon deals with the repair, reconstruction or replacement of physical defects of form or function involving the skin, musculoskeletal system, craniomaxillofacial structures, hands, extremities, breasts and trunk, and external genitalia. They use aesthetic surgical principles not only to improve undesirable qualities of normal structures but also in all reconstructive procedures. A plastic surgeon possesses special knowledge and skill in the design and surgery of grafts, flaps, free-tissue transfer and replantation.
Competence in the management of complex wounds, the use of implantable materials and in tumor surgery is required.

Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine – (Required)

Certification(s) and License(s):
Licensed Medical Doctor – State of Pennsylvania
- Provide general plastic surgery services, cosmetic surgery, microsurgical and implant‑based breast reconstruction, maxillofacial trauma care, cancer/trauma reconstruction, and cleft/craniofacial care.
- Participate in an integrated plastic surgery residency program offering opportunities for teaching, research, and program development.
- Collaborate with physician assistants, nurses, staff, and multiple disciplines throughout the Geisinger system.
- Lead the accredited cleft program for candidates interested in cleft care.
- Contribute to a thriving practice within an established reconstructive and cosmetic referral base.
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (required)
- Licensed Medical Doctor in the State of Pennsylvania
- Highly motivated and exceptional plastic surgeons who appreciate the breadth of plastic surgery and are eager to be integral to the team.
- Experience or interest in cleft care, microsurgery, and breast reconstruction.
