Medical Technologists perform a full range of simplex‑to‑complex patient testing and laboratory services that will provide specialized expertise in one or more of the following laboratory disciplines:

• Transfusion Medicine
• Hematology
• Coagulation
• Urinalysis
• Serology
• Chemistry
• Point of Care Testing

• Perform laboratory procedures, ensuring sample suitability and accuracy.
• Resolve inconsistencies, correct problems using scientific principles.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Ensure quality control and functionality of instruments.
• Prepare laboratory for inspection by regulatory agencies.
• Monitor, maintain, order and stock laboratory supplies.
• Provide customer service to answer questions from patient providers regarding test processes, results or sample collection techniques.

All employees are required to attend hospital orientation on the initial start date and then proceed to the laboratory to undergo an extensive training program across all laboratory disciplines pertinent to the specific position. The one‑on‑one approach typically completes within the first 3 to 4 months of hire.

Annual continuing education is provided by Willis Knighton and many instrument vendors, free of charge, enabling all employees to obtain the required annual CEUs.

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field with one (1) year of clinical laboratory experience.

Applicants must possess a valid Louisiana State License in Clinical Laboratory Science and certification as a Medical Technologist (MT), ASCP, Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), NCA, or equivalent.

Generalist night position rotating throughout the core laboratory and blood bank.

Shift: 12:00 PM – 11:30 PM, Monday‑Friday, 7on/7off
