Responsibilities
Associate with the Cogstone Resource Management team on-place as an on‑call archaeologist for projects across the Inland Empire of California. Conduct pre‑field research, field surveys, monitoring, and site testing using a variety of reference materials. Determine the exact location of sites, mark them on maps and aerial photographs, and ensure work assignments are carried out safely and timely in accordance with established standards and procedures.
Must be able to stand for up to ten hours, with most projects working eight‑hour days. Work well with construction crews and colleagues, follow specific protocols, and be available to travel as necessary.
Skills- Fieldwork and monitoring experience preferred
- Experience in ArcGIS/Field Maps and Survey
123 preferred - Confidence in working in a construction environment
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Excellent note‑taking ability
- Bachelor's degree or graduate degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or closely related field
- Strong analytical and communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both written and verbally, to all project team members, client representatives, and other staff
- Word and Excel proficiency
- Ability to work in a small team environment
- Must be able to stand for up to ten hours (most projects eight hours)
- Must work well with construction crews and colleagues and follow specific protocols
- Availability to travel as required
$25–$33/hr DOE
