Job Overview
The Field Technician role at Cable One, a brand of Sparklight, is a hands‑on position that allows you to work in the field, drive company trucks, and install or repair cable service drops and outlets for residential and business customers. You will receive comprehensive on‑the‑job and classroom training, access to mentors, a company truck, tools, uniforms, and competitive compensation with a meaningful benefits package.
Key Responsibilities- Install customer service drops or outlets at residential and business properties.
- Use electronic test equipment and online diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and repair service drops, diagnose reception performance issues, and resolve all problems from customer equipment to the output of the first distribution amplifier.
- Ensure proper upstream and downstream signal levels at each termination on the customer’s premises.
- Proactively suggest upgrades of existing services and educate customers about new or existing equipment.
- Take on additional duties as needed to support the company’s Purpose, Brand Principles, and Organizational Values.
- Good driving record and a valid driver’s license in the state of application.
- Flexibility to work overtime, on‑call, and in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs., work in small and confined areas, work on a ladder, and work in all weather conditions.
- At least three months of customer service or related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High school diploma or GED.

Job offers are contingent upon successful background check, drug screening, reference check, and, if applicable, completion of DOT program requirements such as road test examination, driver’s record safety review, drug testing, DOT physical, and past employer safety performance review.
