Position: PC Technician *Must Have DoD Clearance And Comptia Certification*

Description

SAIC has an immediate need for a PC Technician to support the US Army Corps of Engineers RITS program, located in Mobile, AL. Under general supervision, the candidate will provide second-tier support to end-users for PC, server, mainframe applications and hardware, addressing problems that first-tier help desk support cannot resolve. The role may involve interacting with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore services and identify and correct core issues.

The technician may simulate or recreate user problems to resolve operating difficulties and recommend system modifications to reduce user problems. The position requires maintaining a high level of technical skill, escalating complex issues to senior-level staff, and performing software installation and configuration tasks. Responsibilities include installing and testing personal computers, printers, and other peripherals; configuring operating systems; loading shrink‑wrap programs and other application software;

troubleshooting printer, computer, and peripheral incidents; performing hardware and software diagnostics; coordinating needed repairs; resolving computer system problems; and participating in the evaluation of system configuration and software.

Skills & Qualifications Required Skills
  • Current DoD 8570 IA Baseline Certification, IAT Level I (e.g., A+, CE, Network+, CE, SSCP, CCNA‑Security)
  • Must obtain appropriate DoD 8570 IA Computing Environment Certification within 6 months of employment
  • Experience supporting Windows 7, Windows 10, and MS Office 2013
  • Experience using Remedy or a similar ticketing system
  • Strong analytical and follow‑through skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate and obtain cooperation from multiple areas within IT
  • Ability to work independently on defined tasks
  • Ability to work as part of a team
Desired Skills
  • Experience maintaining Lexmark, HP, or Ricoh printer devices (including maintenance kits)
  • Prior USACE/ACE‑IT experience
  • Experience working in a DoD environment
  • Experience supporting Office 365

Pay and Benefits

Pay range: $28.00 – $30.00 per hour. Eligibility requirements may apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may vary based on specific elections, plan, or program terms.
