RESPONSIBILITIES
- I/E mechanic will be able to work on Instrumentation Calibration and configuration, Pneumatic Control Valves Actuators and Positioners, Performing Loop Checks, Troubleshooting and Commissioning a Loop, Process Control Loops and Tuning.
- Capable of performing the installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of electrical equipment, instrumentation and analytical equipment, including Motor Controls, Distribution Equipment and Transformer Applications.
- Understands circuit breakers and fuses, detectors, Secondary Elements, Transducers, and Transmitters.
- I/E mechanic will perform Grounding and Bonding applications, heat tracing and freeze protection.
- Solid understanding and knowledge of gaskets, packing, bolts, anchors, hoses, metallurgy, and field mounting techniques associated with electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Solid knowledge of electrical lighting, instrumentation, and electrical maintenance/installation principles both hands‑on and theoretical knowledge.
- Demonstrated I/E ability and experience to read, interpret, and implement electrical codes, manuals, procedures, schematic diagrams, P&’s, blue prints and other specifications.
- Perform routine/non-routine housekeeping jobs to keep work area clean and safe.
- Ability to interact in a productive manner in a team environment.
- High School education or equivalent is required for this role.
- Instrumentation/Controls/Electrical Associates Degree is preferred.
- Experience obtained in an industrial or manufacturing environment, especially regulated by OSHA and EPA environments within a chemical site is preferred.
- A demonstrated experience and skill for the I/E craft is required, this can be achieved by obtaining acceptable or satisfactory scores on courses or tests imparted by NCCER, Ramsey, trade schools or other nationally recognized I/E craft training organizations, or through Evonik’s testing/screening process.
