Will You Do It
  • We are looking for skilled HVAC Mechanics who have practical work experience in their trade (HVAC piping, plumbing, pipe fitting and/or mechanical equipment service industry).
  • Mechanics must have practical working experience in light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment and may be required to pass an examination to identify special skills. Scope of work shall be limited to commercial HVACR service. Servicemen may partner with Journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, absorption machines, open‑drive screw chillers and ammonia systems. Perform maintenance, repair and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
  • We provide factory certification through our Service Technical Academy (STA) with recognition, monetary rewards and advancement. We offer incentive programs and a #1 focus on employee safety.   • Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers, you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of commissioning and aftermarket service. Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure the facility is running efficiently, including upselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
Required Qualifications
  • Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO.
  • Be a dedicated member of a North America Branch team willing to learn and be responsible for system troubleshooting, repair and aftermarket services for this fast‑growing business.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry and industrial petro‑chemical or data center environments (rote, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, plumbing).
  • Ability to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers and/or ammonia/hydrocarbon system components.
  • Maintain ammonia and hydrocarbon safety training certification.
  • Ability to install complete systems (chillers, rooftop units, plumbing and all supporting mechanical systems).
  • Mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators, laser, etc. for pumps, fans, compressors.
  • Ability to use vibration equipment to troubleshoot drive lines.
  • Travel may be required 10%‑20% to support Branch Customer activities, troubleshooting, installation and repair.
  • Required to pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.
  • Opportunity to invest in career development (training programs in HVAC products and sales quoting).
  • Provide on‑the‑job training to other local market mechanics, servicemen and apprentices as necessary.
  • Attention to detail and strong interpersonal, digital and written communication skills. Able to write and communicate problem, cause and corrective actions to the customer.
  • Ability to provide quotes to customers and participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.
  • Self‑starter with a passion/desire to learn and apply on the job.
  • Prioritize safety in all forms.
  • Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing and a valid driver's license.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $46.50 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role. Exceptional candidates with unique skills or experiences that exceed the typical profile are encouraged to apply.
