Underground Mining Trainer at Hecla

Hecla Keno Hill is looking for an Underground Mine Trainer to provide expert instruction and guidance to miners in Yukon. This position emphasizes safety integration and operational excellence.

As an essential part of our mine operation, you will lead training sessions focused on narrow vein hard rock mining techniques, including drill and blast activities. Leveraging your extensive underground mining experience, you'll enhance miner capabilities and foster a culture centered around 'Safety 365'. In collaboration with supervisors, you’ll ensure production goals are met while continually improving training practices and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive hands-on training in mining tasks

• Uphold certification requirements and allergen safety

• Develop and implement training agendas for miners

• Collaborate with management to enhance safety culture

• Conduct daily paperwork for training records

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

• A minimum of 10 years in underground mining

• Familiarity with narrow vein mining methods required

• Train the Trainer experience preferred

• Valid certifications preferred or to be obtained
