Summary of Duties: Responsible for providing career technical training to students in accordance with approved curricula to ensure they leave the program as graduates that attain and maintain employment. Description of Duties: Key Areas of Responsibilities: Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom/training environment, ensuring maximum student motivation and outcomes: Maintains a high degree of discipline within the training area. Adequately prepares for instruction. Integrates math, reading, and writing concepts with employability and Career Success Standards skills with lesson planning. Maintains a clean and clutter free work environment.

Develops and implements an effective course curriculum for students' successful completion of the training program: Utilizes Job Corps guidelines and subject course guide. Has an accurate syllabus for the course and completes lesson plans as required. Identifies appropriate materials. Seeks input from industry advisors. Designs instruction to meet individual student needs and ensures curriculum developed is sufficient for student to pass all tests and certifications. Schedules field trips, guest speakers, workshops, and other special projects to augment career training. Develops and implements CSS projects. Designs curriculum to ensure students meet their academic training needs.

Ensures that Work-based Learning is used to support training: Assists in the development and use of WBL sites. Provides supervision of students at the sites. Assists in developing community linkages and volunteers for the CTT department.

Implements an Applied Academics program: Meets with academic instructors to identify required skills that can be taught and reinforced with applying technical skills in an academic setting and in technical instruction. Develops and implements applied academic projects.

Supports job placement efforts: Ensures that students participate in the Career Transition Readiness program. Identifies and maintains a necessary number of Work-based Learning sites. Ensures that students participate in leisure time employment. Ensures that graduates are placed in an initial career transition activity as well as are placed and take the appropriate post-center surveys.

Maintains accurate record keeping: Submits ESPs in a timely manner, documents student progress for inclusion on the ETA 640 profile. Records daily attendance. Administers accurate completion of the Training Achievement Records (TAR) precisely and in a timely manner. Documents students' progress in case notes at least monthly. Maintains curriculum necessary to attain goals. Maintains a lesson plan binder and prepares lesson plans at least two weeks in advance. Submits necessary schedule change information. Documents and distributes PCDPs as necessary. Ensures documented contact with the parents of a minor at least every other month.

Modeling, Mentoring and Monitoring: All staff is required to model professional workplace behavior, mentor students on demonstration of professional workplace behavior and monitor their successful demonstration of these standards and expectations. Career Mentoring Team (CMT): Contributes to the success of students by participating in a CMT. The CMT is responsible for student s' successful matriculation through the Job Corps program from CPP (Career Preparation Phase) through Career which includes receipt of the academic, CTT, employability, career success standard and social skills necessary to attain and maintain a viable post-Center placement. The Former Enrollee Team is required to ensure that each former enrollee receives a placement within 3 months of separation from the program. Workplace Standards: Makes safety the top priority in all actions and behaviors. Maintains required certifications and/or licenses including a valid driver's license and insurance when required by position. Does not engage in activities other than official business during working hours. Reports significant/major incidents or accidents. Cooperates in external/internal investigations as requested. Completes PRH, Corporate and Center training as required and demonstrates competencies accordingly. Complies with DOL, Corporate, and Center guidelines. Safety: Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as necessary. Must report any unsafe conditions immediately to the safety officer that are in your area or anytime you see an unsafe condition on the center. Credentials: Education and Experience HSD/GED required, Certified, licensed, or accredited in the state in which the center is located, or is accredited by a professional trade organization. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations Journeyman required. Valid state driver's license; CPR/First Aid certifications Category: Installation & Maintenance , Keywords: Electrician
