Rotation/Shifts
Days and nights, including weekends, 12 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements

Certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario;

Minimum six (6) months surgery nursing experience;

Demonstrates theoretical knowledge of the nursing process and care of patients with surgery and ability to apply this knowledge in a clinical setting;

Demonstrates the ability to assess the patient's learning needs and ability to plan appropriate teaching;

Demonstrates the ability to participate as an effective member of the health care team;

Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in an oral and written format with patients, public, colleagues and other health discipline;

Demonstrates a positive attitude towards patients, families and colleagues;

Identifies a commitment to personal continuing education activities;

Demonstrates an understanding and a willingness to participate in self‑evaluation and a commitment to work towards established goals and objectives;

Demonstrates an understanding of the application and relevance of the nursing audit;

Must be eligible to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

A degree in Nursing;

Minimum six (6) months thoracic surgery nursing experience;

Minimum six (6) months ENT nursing experience;

Minimum six (6) months critical care nursing experience;

Minimum six (6) months Hepatobiliary surgery nursing experience.
