Provide nursing care as a Casual Registered Practical Nurse at Carleton University. This position focuses on patient interaction and compassion within a flexible clinic setting.
As part of the Health Services team, you will report to the Director and be supervised by the Nurse Supervisor.
Your role includes assessing patients in emotional distress and those needing support in areas such as sexuality and travel medicine. Strong communication skills are essential for fostering patient confidence and compliance while managing a variety of situations under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care to registered patients
• Assess and support students in emotional distress
• Maintain emergency technique proficiency
• Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals
• Manage time efficiently to adhere to appointment schedules
Requirements:
• Two-year diploma from approved Practical Nurse Program
• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Completed venipuncture course
• Minimum five years of relevant post-graduate experience
• Proficient in MS Word, EMR, and Internet usage
