Position Summary Compensation Pay Range: $65.09-$76.14.
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) at CHEO is a nurse in an advanced nursing practice position with additional educational preparation from an accredited NP program and who has clinical expertise in a pediatric nursing subspecialty. The NP integrates the skills and knowledge from nursing and medicine within a broad framework of advanced nursing practice. The NP functions both autonomously and in collaboration with physicians and other health‑care providers to manage, in a comprehensive manner, the health needs of a defined population of hemoglobinopathy and benign hematology patients.
Responsibilities Direct clinical practice and consultation (60‑80%)

Ongoing professional development (5‑10%)
Work closely with the Hematology Interdisciplinary Team to manage patients presenting to hemoglobinopathy clinics
Assess transition readiness and develop individualized transition plans
Support planning and coordination of specialized pre‑bone marrow transplant care
Provide care to patients with non‑malignant hematological disorders such as thrombosis, bleeding diatheses, and other benign conditions
Deliver follow‑up care for patients admitted to the hospital
Schedule:
Monday‑Friday, 8:00‑16:00 with some flexibility for virtual work
Qualifications Vulnerable Sector Check (essential)
Master’s degree in Nursing (essential)
Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RN (essential)
3‑5 years of recent related clinical nursing experience (essential)
Current level of life‑support training (e.g., BCLS) (essential)
Member of RNAO/NPAO or relevant specialty professional nursing association (preferred)
Experience in Pediatrics (preferred)
Bilingual (English/French) (preferred)
Ability to function collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team (essential)
Demonstrated experience in research and education activities (essential)
Excellent leadership and organizational abilities (essential)
Effective communication, both orally and in writing (essential)
Strong conflict resolution and problem‑solving skills (essential)
Sound crisis management skills (essential)
Physical ability to perform the duties of the job (essential)
Timeline may be extended or shortened based on operational needs (essential)
